Top of the morning to you folks, I'll dispense with my usual salutation as anyone who's got a line in the water really has no cause not to be having a grand day, you know?

You folks remind me of the prairie ice fishing approach, which is to say much more "mechanized" and "civilized" than mine is thus far.

This - please forgive me for reposting yesterday's photo Paul - is the sum total of my current ice fishing equipment/setup.



Ah, I see the tackle box and coffee cup are absent, so we'll add those two items, but otherwise that's it so far.

That said, my hunting partner who got me back into ice fishing after a 20 year hiatus is making rumblings about getting a Skandic or something like that for ice fishing, so one never knows I suppose? Whenever I think about snow machines Paul, my hands start to get cold just remembering the -30° repairs.....

My last machine was a 1977 Jag however, so perhaps they've improved the dependability in the intervening 4 plus decades?
