WAUSAU- Wausau Paper says it plans to close its Brokaw mill by March 31, putting about 450 people out of work.

The Mosinee-based papermaker said Wednesday it has approved the sale of its premium print and color paper division to Neenah Paper. That sale is expected to be finalized by Jan. 31.

Neenah Paper plans to incorporate the work now being down at the Brokaw mill into its plants in Appleton, Neenah and Stevens Point.

The mill's shutdown will affect about 450 hourly and salary workers.

The Wausau Daily Herald reports Wausau Paper recently said it was looking to sell both the division and the mill, but would consider other options
