I was just reviewing the rules for turning in a application for the Camp Ripley archery hunt. Think I'm gonna apply. I talked to a couple guys on line who said you pretty much get drawn every year now. It used to be there were more applicants than tags, and it was about an every-other-year proposition. That's a fun hunt, although kind of tough with no scouting.
From what I heard, Ripley is really a crap shoot. If you know the lay of the land, you should try to get as far back in as early as you can so when all the others show up and start pushing into the woods, they essentially drive the deer to you. This is just what I've heard. I have never actually hunted Ripley.
