Once when the launch was frozen, I backed the trailer onto the ice to break it up so I could launch at O dark thirty. Yep, broke the ice and both tail lights. Took it out in a blizzard and freezing rain. The salt that the road crews put down ate through ALL the wiring during layup. $600 later and all is well. <sigh>

All I do to winterize is fog it and change the lower unit oil to get the water out, if any.

Headed up north in the am for the northern opener Sat. Pretty excited. Sometimes a man just needs to get away.


That’s the same as I do. I don’t put new oil in until the next season though. There is really not much to it and some folks pay $100’s of dollars to have it done for them. It takes about 1/2hr to 1hr.


I’d be pretty happy if we got this rain to stop for a few days. Good grief! crazy
