Well, I was into the urologist today. I will be undergoing chemotherapy. Monday after next, I go in for a hormone shot which shuts down my production of testosterone. Apparently cancer likes testosterone, so they shut this down. I wait 8 weeks and then undergo daily radiation treatments for two months. Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise, that's the end of it. The hormone shot wears off in six months. Assuming this cures the cancer, I'll need a blood draw every 6 months for two years to check my PSA count, and then annual blood draws for the same test thereafter. They caught the cancer very early and give me an excellent chance of survival.

Side effects of the hormone shots are exhaustion and lethargy. I am cautiously optimistic that you poor bastids are stuck with me for a long, long time.
