The income tax situation is attractive in TN, SC, and FL. The winters are even more attractive.
But even heading west will solve some taxation issues. We think SD is a wonderful place and very well may end up there. When the bigger kids graduate in 5 years we will look more closely. Heading west in Oct and will probably look more in-depth then.
