Dave,there is an old tradition in my family that you NEVER GIVE someone a knife. A knife is bought for a penny or what ever coin is handy in their pocket. If they have no coin in their pocket you give them one. As Grandpaw Cyrus explained to me, a GIVEN knife will cut your friendship. A SOLD one will not. Just a tradition my family has always followed.
