Your #1 will take hellacious loads but I have found a good load that doesn't dislocate parts of your body and is pretty doggone accurate.It's moving about 1075FPS which is what you want for white tail deer.A slow moving big bullet that does a complete pass thru.I use a 350 grain Remington Jacketed round nose bullet over 40 grain of Reloader 7.
The Hornady Leverrevolution is a good albeit rather "spirited" load.If you use cast bullets then pick one with wide meplat.Big old flat nosed jobs do great.
