Are the murals and "stuff" on the side of the car paint or decal'ish?

I had a 79 Bronco that had the brown,orange,yellow, rainbow type stuff on it. It was a reflective decal. If you hit it with headlights or a spot light, you were sightless for a few seconds. grin I don't know why anyone would put that on there?
