I made an extension cord to hook it directly to a vehicle or my battery bank in the house & that works very well. It still won't touch my gas auger for speed & power but it gets the job done without the smoke. If I leave the vehicle running it is even better as the voltage is around 15v. It works well to poke a couple extra holes if someone shows up for a visit. (Can I talk like that here? I'm a little gunshy now.) I wouldn't depend on it with just the supplied battery & never leave home without my old Jiffy. Fastest drilling "stock" auger on the ice.
