I've got my eye on a Stainless/black laminate M77 Compact with the shortened fore stock and 16.5" barrel.

I've looked at the full size too, but I think would be a nice walking gun in 7mm-08


I'm kind of a winchester M70 guy but there was enough about this M77 to like. I've been tinkering with it for a couple of years now, finally breaking into load development for the rifle. I am happy with it and I am also confident that I can become even happier with more hand load experimenting.

I'm a little dissapointed that I didn't get to shoot a deer with it this year. Guess I'll have to take it out and shoot a coyote with it.

The rifle did shoot a bear this year but not with one of my handloads.

It was a very effective black bear deadener with 140 gr winchester powerpoints.
