yes you can use rifles, I asked someone that very same question this morning actually
I saw 30 birds (turkeys) this morning and 10 mule deer on my way to work. saw about 20 deer yesterday and a bunch of ducks geese turkeys while at work. its raining today so I'm working at home on paper work for my CDL til the rain clears and I can get back in the field.
Beware of any old man in a profession where one usually dies young.
