Didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't like it. I do, quite a bit. And I agree with you. It seems to be a survivor rather than one that was fixed up. I am a fan of that 300-6. I had a 85 f-150 4x4 w/300 i-6 and a 4sp manal trans. I took that suceker all over the place. I don't remember gas mileage other than it was better than my 79 Bronco.
With a muffler on a smooth running 300, you could hardly tell it was on.
Though,, a second look at that truck looks like it has as older box on it. I see two fuel caps without doors. I believe 78 and 79 has the fuel doors with the filler caps behind them.
