One other cool thing that happened. A younger guy about 30 pulled up and asked if I have anything good on camera. He said he owns the 80 that buys up against a spot I’ve hunted for about 6-7 years. He knew it was there, and told me where he’d be so we’re aware of each other. We’re hunting about 1/4 - 1/3 mile apart. No biggie.
He had his wife with him and was chatty as well. But as we kept talking, he sounded real familiar to me. I knew him from somewhere and couldn’t place it. Then he said he moved about 15 years ago from a small town near Wausau. A light bulb went off…I asked his name and he told me.
I started laughing and said unused to work at an archery shop he got his start bow hunting at. He moved up to where we hunt and is a principal at the school there. But when he miced, he was also working/hunting for Drury Outdoors. He doesn’t anymore but it was good to BS with him and his wife.
