Had a fantastic wood duck/goose hunt last night. Wow. It all happened in the last half hour of shooting time, but we were swarmed with geese and woodies. It was so fast and furious the last 10 minutes that I was reloading as fast as I could and ended up shooting BBs at woodies and #3s at geese a couple times. As soon as shooting time ended, we just watched as 400-600 woodies circled and landed among us....well a few landed cuz my little boy would get excited when the big flocks were on top of our heads and move. What a spectacle though. ended up with 7 geese and 8 woodies and a memory that will last a long time. If you havent been dive bombed by 100 woodies at a time, it is an experience to say the least. I ducked more than once thinking I was gonna get a drake in the noggin. By the way, hitting a woodie as he comes screaming in doing his acrobatic flips and flops is a mite on the tough side!
What you do today is important, you are trading a day in the rest of your life for it.
