Dad put a table off the edge of his deck...I could see that on the left and/or right sides. It hangs out over the lawn. I agree on the 6 feet, my porch out front varies from 5-8 feet and it is tight in some places, some times.
In any event, you will love it I am sure. If nothing else, it should reduce the dirt tracked inside a great deal.
How are you gonna keep critters from homesteading underneath it?
If Joyce wants you to use his hangers, he better dang well be there to help with them I would say.
